Tt was publish in the inquisitor news paper yesterday that the nzema East is missing without any fact checking. This has come as a worry to the assembly members of the assembly and are calling on the inquisitor news paper to stop it trend of spreading false news about their MCE. It is alleged that in inquisitor news paper is serving under influence of the Former MP Hon. Catherine Ablema Afeku and the former MCE Hon. Frank Okpenyen to impede the work of the MCE. The members issued a press statement calling for the right thing to be done to give way for the development of the assembly to advance.
Our attention has been drawn to a media publication on the front page of “The Inquisitor” news paper that “Our MCE is Missing”.
We want to state in unequivocal terms that there is no iota of truth in the claim that the Assembly members in the Nzema East Municipal do not know the whereabouts of our MCE. It’s unfortunate that some unknown faces are of the district are doing everything possible to impede the activities of the MCE in improving on the developmental agenda in the municipality.
This all started with a false publication that the technocrats at the Municipal Assembly are leaving as a result of harsh treatment given to them by the MCE that was turned to be a well planned agenda to use the technocrats to fight against the MCE but failed.
We believe these are calculated attempt by some unknown faces who do not want the MCE to succeed in her office and doing everything possible to create a rift between the MCE and her subordinates.
It is sad that in this era where journalism is seen as the fourth important organ of government in building a greater nation, there are some few bad journalism that we must endeavor to eradicate from our public discourse. We cannot have journalists putting up stories without cross checking and without credible basis.
We will urge the Inquisitor news paper to step up its game and not be allowed to be used by some selfish individuals to discredit their hard won reputation.
We hereby wants the public to know in that, our MCE Mrs Elizabeth Dorcas Amoah have been with us from day one of her appointment as the new MCE and she still report to her office to over see the day to day activities of the assembly.
We expected the Inquisitor news paper to have done the needful thing and cross check from the Assembly before putting out such falls information.
Signed.
