Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has announced the imposition of a travel ban on travelers from three countries, Malta, Israel and South Korea.
In three separate releases from the Ministry and posted to the Facebook page of the Ministry of Information, the Government of Ghana said all travelers to and from Malta are banned effective Monday December 20, 2021 and the country “does not recognize any vaccine certificate from Malta”.
In the case of South Korea, the release said a “temporary travel restriction on all travelers from South Korea” has been initiated from Monday 20th December 2021 for a period of 14 days.
Travelers from Israel are also informed that Ghana has placed a temporary restriction on all arrivals from December 20, 2021 for a period of 14 days, “except in exceptional humanitarian cases of during official travels”.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the travel ban and restrictions is because of the Omicron virus and advise the general and traveling public to take note and adhere accordingly.
