Prosecution in the case of Charles Nii Armah Mensah aka Shatta Wale, a dance hall artiste, and three others says the Police are looking for another person to arrest. Chief Inspector Dennis Terkpertey, the Prosecutor, said the person was expected to assist police in their Investigations.
Chief Inspector Terkpertey therefore prayed the court for a date. Defense Counsel Jerry Avenorgbo requested that he be heard in Chambers.
The Court presided over by Mr Emmanuel Essandoh obliged defense counsel’s request.
On their return from Chambers, Mr Avenorgbo indicated to the Court that Shatta Wale had been billed for a number of events during this Christmas hence the next adjourned date should be extended.
The Court therefore adjourned the matter to January 25.
Shatta Wale is on self recognisance bail.
The dancehall artiste self recognisance bail is in the sum of GHS 100,000.
Shatta Wale is said to have published false news over his alleged shooting following a prophesy by one Prophet known as Jesus Ahoufe.
The said Man of God is said to have prophesied that the dance hall artiste would be shot on October 18 just as the South African Reggae artiste Lucky Dube.
Shatta Wale’s accomplices, Kojo Owusu Koranteng, also known as Nana Dope, Eric Venator, aka Gangee and Iddriss Yussif, were also admitted to bail in the sum of GHS 100,000 each with one common surety who must be a public officer.
In another development, the same court has adjourned to January 25, the case of Samuel Adu Frimpong aka Medikal who also brandish a gun on social media. He is also on bail.
